I was at a diversity conference this morning, where I met with a team of five people that was working on a presentation we were doing at the conference later that day. I was paying extra attention to for who the third person to acknowledge me would be. Interestingly, even though I jumped right into the work of the group, the group was so anxious about the presentation, no one said hello. (We are all friends, so it was kind of like the hello was assumed.) I ended up giving my dollar to Debbie Hart from the WV Mental Health Association who greeted me warmly when I walked into the main conference room. She was gracious and smiled when I gave her the dollar. That was about it! Thank you God!
(Later I realized that I have much to be thankful for. I was at the final day of the Diversity Academy, which was a five month process with about 60 hours invested. The tuition for the Academy was $5,000, and I was there on a full scholarship due to the generous contribution of many folks! Thank you God!)
