I am seeing as I do this that part of the process of giving the dollar away brings about a heightened awareness of the circulation of giving and receiving in my life. I am noticing and feeling even more appreciative of the small acts of generosity happening all around. Here are some that come to mind from this week:
- the kids offering their music at the Christmas program, especially the soloists and their courage
- Linda's wonderful curried chicken wraps after the Sunday service
- Danny's continual generosity giving the kids newly minted coins, this week, the Hawaii quarter
- Matt's joining me in the dollar project and sharing his log
- the angel who gave Maria and me tickets to the Clay Center for Wednesday
These are blessings far more valuable then the single dollars I have been giving away. While the single dollars are not the only way I give, I am really liking the daily awareness of the power of circulation in my life.
I ran out of single dollars again, so I will double up with Dollar 11 tomorrow.
